my books collection (part1)

wow! finally i was able to take pics of my books collection and found out how many there were! and i still haven't read them yet.. :(
it's just that why do i have this addiction of buying and collecting books. especially those with pretty colorful covered ones! hehe.. :)
anyway, soon, hopefully i'll be able to read them one by one. and maybe sell those that i don't really like much. it'll be same with my tagalog pocketbooks collection which i'll be featuring/posting soon. i'm still in the process of reading and sorting those i'm keeping those i'm selling online in my fb "shop".
for now, here's batch 1 of my books collection. hope to be able to post the other batches soon so they won't be too many posts apart. :)

new books

bought books today.. hehe.. sherlock holmes volume 1 and 2. i want to read it already but they're so thick. hmmm... plus, my sister said it would give me headache if i read it in one sitting. i just hope i could finish them both 'coz i think i remember that i used to like borrowing sherlock holmes books during high school and college but i think i wasn't able to read them because of the super thick book and tiny fonts. hehe, thus, i don't really remember any of his stories. because i wasn't able to read any. tsktsk. anyway, i'll try my very hardest to read them now. :) goodluck to me.

storybooks 2

yesterday, i went to nbs as father told me that i could have my defective craft puncher returned/exchanged there. but they didn't allow me, told me i have to go to the branch where i bought the item. oh well, i'll just forget about it 'coz i don't want to go all the way to makati just for that. it's just less than a hundred pesos and if i'll commute, expense would be just a couple pesos difference. nevermind!
so, i looked around the store looking for their stocks of punchers, but i found none. i wouldn't ask for assistance anyway, hehe. and so, i just looked for some books instead. of course, i looked for the children's section for the "classic starts" books. i went over them one by one and only found 2 books i liked. and, of course, i've finished reading them both today. hehe. addict!

i was touched by the story and actually got teary eyed. hehe. i have an idea on the story but didn't really know the whole story. i have mixed emotion on sara having to create stories to make her life easier. :) anyway, it's highly recommended. :)

well, i think i used to like sherlock holmes when i was still in school. hehe. but then again, when i watched the movie of the same title, i realized i can't actually remember any of his stories. all i know is that he's a good detective. tsktsk. and so, i bought this book and although it's really confusing how he really solves the case, how he interprets things, etc. it's just nice to read mystery type of books once in a while, hehe. i just might look out for other sherlock holmes books out there. though, i know that it could be frustrating with the little font books and stories could be lenghty, just for the fun of reading. hehe.

you're the one that i don't want

Finished reading the book You're The One That I Don't Want.
It was good, nicely written and entertaining that I just can't stop wanting to finish it. hehe.. Anyway, basically there's 2 love stories in the book. Of course, the story of the main female character, then her room mate's. Both were nicely thought and really kept me wanting to read more and guessing how their stories would end and who they will end up with. Good to say I was satisfied with the ending and glad that I finished it and was actually happy with the book. :)

You’re The One That I Don’t Want - Alexandra Potter

just bought a new book today. wasn't able tor resist the cute cover aside from the fact that i like the author and the story of the book. hehe.. hopefully will be able to read the book this week.

How do you know he's The One?

Are you getting butterflies just thinking about him?

Have you dreamt of marrying him?

Do you just know?

When Lucy meets Nate in Venice, aged 18, she knows instantly he's The One. And, caught up in the whirlwind of first love, they kiss under the Bridge of Sighs at sunset. Which – according to legend – will tie them together forever.

But ten years later, they’ve completely lost contact. That is, until Lucy moves to New York and the legend brings them back together. Again. And again. And again.

But what if Nate isn't The One? How is she going to get rid of him? Because forever could be a very long time...

A funny, magical romantic comedy about how finding The One doesn't always have to mean happily ever after.

40 stories of finding your one true love

just finished reading the book by bo sanchez.

was quite excited and happy when i started two nights ago but as i continued reading the rest of the stories, i somehow got dissatisfied. one thing was that some of the stories were just 2 pager where they didn't even went into details about their story. i was hoping these were stories of at least how they met, being in the relationship, struggles, and endings. but i was really disappointed to see that full stories were just every other story or so. :( to think i tried my best not to read the entire book in one sitting coz i was taken by mica's comment that she takes in every story, to take note of the "kilig" factor which i didn't felt in some of the stories.

basically the story was partly advertising bo's popular book "how to find your one true love" and his seminar with the same title. most of the stories in this book mentioned about these two one way or another. sample was : after reading bo's book or attending his seminar with the same title, they got inspired / motivated by bo's advice of how to find their one true love (like how to identify if s/he is the one) also, most of the stories were about people who were members of religious groups like SFC (singles for christ) and LSS (life in the spirit seminar).

i'll just have to read it again and choose which story / stories i liked best. 'til then... :)

Para kay B ( O Kung Paano Dinevastate ng Pag-ibig ang 4 out of 5 sa Atin)

Last Wednesday, i finally finished reading the book after i think, almost two weeks of non-continuos reading. my verdict? i didn't like it much... too bad. i was hoping it was a good one based on the comments etc on the back cover of the book and it being supposed to be much talked about. well, i guess it was somewhat like the twilight saga, it was hyped to create an audience impact. honestly, i don't even know who ricky lee is. until i read about him interviewed by newspapers as part of marketing his newly published book. then again, blame it on me being too much curious with the title of the book. anyway, while reading it, i felt as if i was back in my college filipino literature class. wherein i had to read a book by a filipino author and analyze the content and submit a written paper on it. haha... it was mainly about love, how there's supposed to be a quota, only 1 out of 5 get to be completely happy. how sad... but could be true. well, basically there's the 5 stories of 5 female characters. there were some funny and noteworthy parts but the entirety was quite... i don't know... i just can't decribe it at all, i just find it odd. then, there's how the story was presented and how it was ended, i just didn't quite get the idea why it was presented that way. my rating : 3
